The inaugural Australia-China Conference on Science, Technology and Innovation was held at the University of Western Australia from 2 to 6 February 2017.
It was organised by Nanocomm Hub Chief Investigator Professor Guowei Ma of the School of Civil, Environmental and Mining Engineering, UWA who is also the President of the WA Chinese Scientists Association.
The conference attracted 261 scholars and students, government officials and policy makers, industry leaders and entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders from both Australia and China.
The conference had a multi-disciplinary focus with six forums: sustainable and resilient infrastructure, medical science and public health, clean energy, agriculture and food sciences, business and entrepreneurship, and young professionals.
The sustainable and resilient infrastructure forum which was chaired by Prof Guowei Ma attracted more than 50 per cent of the conference participants.
