Nanocomm Hub Launch

On 20 November 2017, the Honourable Scott Ryan, Special Minister of State and Minister Assisting the Prime Minister, officially launched the Nanocomm Hub. Thank you to all our academic and industry partners who attended to make the launch such a special occasion.

Special guests also included ARC Chief Executive Officer, Professor Sue Thomas and Monash Senior Vice-Provost and Vice-Provost (Research) who both addressed the audience at the launch.

Since getting underway in December last year so much has already been achieved. Nanocomm Hub Director, Professor Wenhui Duan applauded the collaboration occurring between the Hub’s researchers and industry partners. Professor Duan told the audience on the day that project teams are moving quickly ahead to deliver ground-breaking innovations set to transform the Australian construction sector.

The event held in the New Horizons building at Monash University also incorporated the launch of another ARC ITRP-funded Hub based at Monash—the ARC Research Hub for Computational Particle Technology.

Attendees spent the rest of the day together either attending a seminar for chief investigators or a development workshop for PhD and Postdoctoral Fellows, followed by networking drinks. All Nanocomm Hub staff thank you for your participation and look forward to seeing you at many more events in the future.
